The difference between quasi-money and commodity money is that quasi-money is a term that refers assets which can be easily converted to cash because they are in high demand and are issued creditworthy financial institutions. Examples of quasi-money are gold certificates, bonds and etc., while commodity money is a type of money whose value comes from the commodity in which it is made.
