Do I use certain key words in the essay to communicate the relevance to the title or topic given? How do I even go about this in such limited time?

Hey, I took WASSCE like 4 years ago. Few things to note
1. Do the ones that you feel most confident about answering
2. Be brief and right to the point at first. You can add more detail later if you have time.
3. Watch out for the main words in the question and answer in that direction.
WASSCE is a pretty comprehensive exam. If you want to answer a question you will have to be knowledgeable of the answer to the question. You are expected to be brief and to the point. You are expected to use jargons related to the subject under discussion
For example, if you were ask to state one function of the vagina. This question seems pretty simple but there are several ways to present a wrong answer and not knowing that you have presented the wrong answer.
Some wrong answers: it’s used for sexual intercourse. It’s the female reproductive organ. The vagina is the place where the penis passes.
The first wrong answer is more social than biological. The second answer is very broad. The third tells the examiner that you are simply putting in your own thoughts.
Right answer: The vagina functions as a birth canal during parturition. The vagina serves to receive semen at the climax of copulation.
I hope this was helpful.

I think the best way to write any international exams not just WAEC is to focus on a topic that you have more knowledge of then spending most of your time on questions that have you no details on. The next one is be more precise .

What I am about to share with you remains applicable to every essay. When faced with an essay, do the following:
1. Identify the nature of the essay: this can help you develop a bigger picture. Identifying the nature of the essay means knowing whether it is argumentative, narrative, descriptive, expository, etc… Knowing this can help you focus on key words for delivery or shape how you write
2. Develop your main idea
3. Develop evidence for your claims
4. Develop the structure of your respond: it is usually introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.
In the introduction, make sure to acknowledge the topic and state in a captivating way what should be expected (don’t provide any details here!), you could ask intriguing questions or state an unexplained idea.
In the body, make sure to provide supporting details or ideas for your main idea over three paragraphs.
AND LASTLY, tie the knots of all of your ideas – provide a summary.
Thanks. Hope it helps.

The best way to approach WASSCE essay questions, and any other exam essay question, is putting first thing first.
Remember that WASSCE is a public exam, therefore there are over thousands of students writing that exam, with a limited amount of instructors to correct those papers. So what ever you do, keep in mind that no one will spend 1 hour or even 30 minutes on your paper.
Your first paragraph or sentence of every answer should be power-packed and have all necessary key words surrounding that question.

It’s always important to focus on keen words such as “describe”, “explain” , “list” and others. Learn to say the most essential I very few words and deliver quality. Don’t hold-on main idea for your last paragraph.
